The team
Our story is rooted in a passion for art, hospitality, and bringing people together in meaningful ways. Cézanne was created as a space where contemporary art and thoughtfully designed events naturally intersect, offering an environment that feels both inspiring and approachable. Located in the heart of Kansas City’s Crossroads Arts District, the venue reflects our belief that events should feel intentional, creative, and personal. What began as a search for space evolved into a vision for an active art gallery that also functions as a flexible event venue. Through rotating exhibitions, curated experiences, and hands-on hospitality, our story continues to grow alongside the artists, couples, and communities who walk through our doors.

Westport Cafe
2016We moved to the US from France to take over Westport Cafe, a French bistro dedicated to offering modern French cuisine and craft cocktails in a Parisian-style setting.
Sidecar
2017After realizing we could export our craft cocktails to large parties, we decided to create Sidecar, a craft catering company specializing in craft cocktails made with fresh juices and housemade syrup. Sidecar also offers private cocktail classes for individuals and corporations!
Cezanne
2023Our story began while searching for a home for our growing Sidecar business, when we unexpectedly stumbled upon Cézanne. During a visit to this intriguing location, we met the previous owner of the 2016 Main event space, and our conversations quickly revealed the potential of the venue. After much consideration and excitement, we decided to take the leap and acquire our own event space. Our vision for 2016 Main goes beyond a simple venue, with the goal of creating a dynamic environment that functions as both an art gallery and a versatile event space for creative, memorable gatherings.
More to come!
2025-2030Kansas City is our home, and we couldn't be more excited about what's coming in one of the most dynamic cities in the Midwest! Although we are French, we feel like we have been adopted by this wonderful city. We are thrilled to announce that we will be undertaking more projects, bringing our unique blend of creativity and passion to new places in town!
